Listen lovely, if you want to enjoy scoffing mince pies, Christmas cake and all the turkey this year then honestly, fill. your. boots.
There are never any judgments coming from me. In fact, in December I always allow myself to eat what I damn well please (yes that’s my truth).
It's the month of the year where I feel the heaviest, and that is ok. I always do a detox in January and I am always super strict with myself as I love to set my year up in the healthiest way possible.
That for me is balance.
Your version of balance may be different from nine, and that’s ok too. However, what I never want you to feel is anxious and stressed out because of the choices that you’ve already made, that’s just a waste of your precious time, especially at a time when you should be enjoying yourself.
I teach my clients to help them to navigate through life with as much ease, fulfilment and joy as possible. Eating food is one of life's pleasures, especially when you’re doing it with people that you love.
So honestly, eat the food and enjoy however the one thing that I say is eat the food consciously. I mean REALLY enjoy it. Savour every mouthful.
So many of us have our self worth, success and self love wrapped up in our size, how much our stomach bloats and how much cellulite we have or haven’t got that when it comes to Christmas, with all the things that are hanging around that we may not normally eat, we get tempted to eat things that may make us feel rubbish mentally because they make us feel rubbish physically (like causing extra bloating etc)
So many coaches and therapists overlook the impact that food and drinks have on our mental and emotional wellbeing.
The power of what we feed ourselves with is well - overwhelming - when you truly experience on its full capacity (I will be writing more about this in the next few blogs)
Whilst green juice, clean food, healthy living can give us clarity, vibrancy and energy. Rich, sugary-laden food can do the opposite, and that’s ok.
Christmas eating is not how you do it everyday, right? It’s a holiday and it’s a bit of down time and that’s ok too.
Here are a few tips to help you to enjoy the festive season without feeling bad about what you are and aren’t eating and drinking:
I hope that those few tips can help you to stay happier and healthier over the xmas period
Sending you massive hugs.
